how to archive assignments in google classroom

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Google Classroom does not have a built-in feature specifically called "archive assignments." However, you can archive classes in Google Classroom, which may indirectly impact the visibility of assignments. Please note that features and functionalities in online platforms like Google Classroom may change over time, so it's a good idea to check the latest documentation or updates from Google.

Here are steps to archive a class in Google Classroom:

  1. Open Google Classroom:

    • Go to Google Classroom by navigating to classroom.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Select the Class:

    • Click on the class you want to archive.
  3. Click on Settings:

    • In the upper-right corner, click on the settings gear icon.
  4. Archive Class:

    • Scroll down in the settings menu until you see the "Archive Class" option. Click on it.
  5. Confirm Archiving:

    • A confirmation prompt will appear. Confirm that you want to archive the class.

Archiving a class in Google Classroom essentially moves it out of the active classes list, but it does not delete the class or its content. It can help you organize your Google Classroom dashboard and focus on current classes.

Keep in mind that archiving a class doesn't specifically archive individual assignments. Students and teachers won't be able to interact with the class, but the assignments and related content will still be accessible in the archived class.

If you are looking for a way to organize or manage assignments specifically, consider creating topics within a class to categorize assignments, marking assignments as "Done" when completed, or using the "Reuse post" feature for recurring assignments.
